World War II Memories

We all know that WWII was a conflict between world powers in their constant struggle to defeat one another. Well, what happens when the war ends? Far from having a happy ending, Europe was in its worst position in history, not only economically, but people's spirits were beyond comfort. Husbands who arrived home after years of being absent became strangers to their families. It's time to dig into a more individual perspective of what hapenned after 1945.

The link below contains a version of this story that we have not heard of just yet. I hope you find it as interesting as did I.

It is truly sad how we often overlook the most devastating effects of the war. Usually we focus on the changes to the economy, the geographical limits, the political relations, the infrastructure...

But I don't think we ever really stop to think about the survivors of the wars. Those poor soul who truly have a first hand account of what happened, not like the leaders of the nations that sat cofortably in their offices issuing order, not risking their lives.

My respect to people like these, the unsung heroes.
