- What the Bible says
Jewish history began  about 4000 years ago with the patriarchs – Abraham, his son Isaac, and grandson Jacob. Some Arabs said that they lived there before, and that’s correct but it was after the Jews went from Israel (in that time I think it was called Canaan) to Egypt because they didn’t have food. In the Bible says that God promised Israel to the Jews, that it was for them (that’s when Moses took them and unslaved them fromt the egyptians, and they were in the desert, etc.).
Also king David united the 12 Israelite tribes into one kingdom establishing Jerusalem as the capital of the monarchy.
The Kingdom of Israel was crushed by the Assyrians (722 BCE) and its people carried off into exile and oblivion.

On 14 May 1948, when the British Mandate came to an end, the Jewish population in the Land numbered some 650,000, comprising an organized community with well-developed political, social and economic institutions - in fact, a nation in every sense and a state in everything but name.

OECD

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. It was established in 1961 and it is located in Paris, France. Thirty countries are members of the OECD (Mexico has been member since 18 May 1994). Thanks to this organization, governments from the different countries can compare policy experiences, they look for answers for problems they have in common (such as the economic crisis), and identify and coordinate domestic and international policies.

Its mission:
- Support sustainable economic growth
- Boost employment
- Raise living standards
- Maintain financial stability
- Assist other countries’ economic development
- Contribute to growth in world trade

The OECD helps governments to encourage prosperity and fight poverty through economic growth and financial stability by using its wealth of information.

The Council, the committees,  and the secretariat are the ones who drive the OECD’s work.
The Council is the decision-making power; the Council meets frequently at the level of permanent representatives to OECD and by consensus, the decisions are made.
Committees: the representatives of the members of the OECD meet in this committees to advance ideas and review progress in some policy areas like economics, trade, etc.
The OECD Secretariat is made up of about 2,500 staff (includes economists, lawyers, scientists, etc) and they support the activities of the committees.

Zionists

Zionists are the people (with whatever religion, race, etc.) who believe that the Jews deserve a nation of their own which should be Jerusalem. Zionism is the national liberation movement of the Jewish people. 
Most Jews have always been Zionists, they have always though that they are a nation or people.

Israel was a thirsty country, and zionism brought water to this country. Nowadays, glass and steel towers rose from sand dunes. Jews and Arabs have the benefits of water thanks to Zionism.
I think being a zionist is great, but there are actually some jews that don’t agree with Zionism.

Hamas indoctrination of kids

Hamas teaches kids to value violence and Islamic supremacy and to follow Allah no matter what, even sacrificing its own life. These kids have grown up like this since they are very small. They grow up thinking is the most normal thing in earth, trained to kill and to some day end themselves with their own lives for Allah.

This video shows that kids are taught this things by watching kids’ TV programs, so they think it’s good and normal. And as Hilary Clinton said, I also think that this kids have the right to know about peace, because peace is the best value for the world so we can live better.

Lisbon Treaty finally signed

The Lisbon Treaty was created to change the workings of the European Union, with the purpose of transforming the European continent into a more unite and influential global player, its purpose is “to complete the process started by the Treaty of Amsterdam [1997] and by the Treaty of Nice with a view to enhancing the efficiency and democratic legitimacy of the Union and to improving the coherence of its action."This treaty had been signed by 26 countries of the European Union except by Czechoslovakia. But finally today, (after eight years of efforts to bring major constitutional reforms to the European Union) 3rd of November 2009 the Czech president Vaclav Klaus signed the treaty at Prague Castle after the Czech constitutional said that the document does not violate the country's constitution.

Turkey: Middle East or Europe?

Just a small part of the territory of Turkey is placed in Europe, and this leads to the big political issue: should Turkey be considered a European country so it can become a member of the EU? This question has been debated a lot, particulaly in Europe where many countries are against the Turkish membership of the EU meanwhile other countries emphasize that the possibility for Turkish membership can be a goal in order to advance and stabilize democracy in Turkey. The possibility of a future membership was recognized when Turkey and the European Economic Community first entered an association agreement in 1963, but since 1999, Turkey had been as a country negotiating for a membership.

Besides they don’t know if Turkey is from Europe or from Middle East, many think that the EU doesn’t want Turkey to enter because they are not Christian. 

"Turkey is not a Germany, or a France, and it will never be like these countries. Turkey is different. If the current members want to establish Europe on the base of Christian values, Turkey can never be a European. If Europe means Christian discrimination, it means that the EU has to live with more than 100 million non Europeans (Muslims) inside"German politician Stoiber argued that Turkey has different cultural and spiritual background and these differences make it non-European: "Turkey is not Europe nor does it belong to the continent, because the country has such great cultural and spiritual differences with western values.”

Nowadays, Turkey’s position between Europe and the Middle East is more in a state of instability that it has been for many years.

EU – Mexico relationship

The European Union negotiated an Economic Partnership, Political Coordination and Cooperation Agreement with Mexico which was signed in 1997 and entered into force in 2000. This agreement (referred as the “Global Agreement”) provided a framework for both deepening and strengthening EU-Mexico political relations. The Global Agreement is made of three “parts”:

- Political dialogue (major focus: civil society)
- Free trade in goods and services
- Cooperation programs in various sectors, mostly inherited from the previous framework agreement signed in 1991

The Global Agreement also permitted the EU to reinforce its economic and commercial positions in Mexico, which had been under pressure since the entry into NAFTA in 1994.

Since the entry into the Global Agreement, the EU and Mexico have developed an active and honest political dialogue on concerns of mutual interest.

Mexico and the EU are implementing important and innovative development cooperation activities.
Policy dialogues have been launched in areas such as human rights, development, trade facilitation, environment and climate change (Mexico and the EU have adopted very close positions). Other areas of policy dialogue which will be launched by the end of this year are on Since the entry into force of the 2004 EU/Mexico sectoral agreement on Science and Technology, scientific and technological cooperation between the EU and Mexico has increased considerably.

From Mexico’s point of view, the relationship with the EU is a vital factor for political diversification and balance in its international relations.

Mexico and international affairs

Mexico is one of the largest economies in Latin America. Mexico has been a member of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) since 1994 and it has concluded a set of FTA (Free Trade Agreements) with its major commercial partners. Although Mexico is an emerging country, it is one of the few countries to have free trade agreements with the US, the EU and Japan. Mexico also has agreements with most of the Latin American and EFTA countries and with Israel.
Mexico is the only Latin American country to be member of the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) since 1994; Mexico’s playing an important role in the OECD process of enlargement and enhanced engagement aiming.
Mexico it’s also an active member of the World Trade Organization. Mexico is one of the world’s main destinations for flows of foreign direct investment (FDI), and it has become one of the very few Latin American sources of FDI for third countries; the main ones are the USA, the EU and some Latin American countries.
Mexico is one of the main assets in the context of a progressive, multilateral and multicultural international community. Mexico is becoming more assertive and is aspiring to play a more active role in today's rapidly changing international environment. Mexico has consistently been an active and supportive member of the UN. It is the world's tenth largest contributor to the UN Budget. In fact, Mexico’s financial contribution to the UN is the biggest in Latin America and it alone accounts for about 50% of the region's total financial contributions to the organization.

Lisbon Treaty changes for citizens

•      Emphasize the EU’s capacity to act through external coherence, internal policies, policy achievements for citizens and modern institutions.
  
•            Provide a stronger and a more consistent external voice for the European Union
  
•            Energy supply and promotion of energy efficiency, energy saving, and the development of new and renewable forms of energy.
  
•            Deal with cross border effects of public health, civil protection and support of cross-border activities in sport.
  
•            Set out a stable institutional system that make decisions to be taken quicker, more transparently, with better democratic control and with a strengthened respect for decisions. Citizens will have a better idea of who is responsible for what and why the European Union is taking action.
  

Thanks to these innovations the European Union will be able to have the possibility to implement its policies that aimed to guarantee economic growth and competitiveness, improving employment and social conditions, enhancing personal and collective security, promoting a better environment and better health conditions, developing cohesion and solidarity between Member States as well as scientific and technological progress.

The Euro in ten years

Because of a complex set of economic, financial, political, and historical reasons, the euro was launched in January 1999. Ten years have passed since Europe has the euro and it has brought two main benefits which are: lower transaction costs and greater transparency. These benefits complement the advantages of free-trade areas. 

Now, what's going to happen in the next ten years with the euro?

According to ECB (European Central Bank) and euro policimakers, this 5 things could happen:

The inflation target, and its requisite downward pressure on domestic prices, could pose the risk of an extended period of sub-standard growth.

The expansion of the Euro-zone into more of Scandinavia and Central Europe and the potential impact on the inflation dynamics of the European Monetary Union.

Germany after WWII

After World War 2, Germany was split into two countries. One country was known as West Germany and it was under the influence of the United States, England and France. The other country was known as East Germany and it was under the influence and direct control of the Soviet Union. The Berlin Wall came down on November 9, 1989, that's when the two countries were re-united in one again, Germany. West Germany absorbed East Germany. Like Japan, now Germany is one of the best allies and trading partners with the United States. Who would think that enemies could become such very good friends?

The Nazi-Soviet Pact of 1939

On 23 August, 1939, Russia and Germany signed a 'non-agression pact'. The two countries had made a number of a secret protocol agreeing to invade and divide Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuana, Romania and Poland (first in line). The Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact was drawn up quickly and signed. The pact had secret clauses, one of which acknowledged the right of USSR to occupy the Baltic States, with the Soviet Union paying Germany a large sum in compensation for Hitler's claims in Lithuania. Another secret clause detailed the partition of Poland. Soviet Anti-Fascist propaganda was ordered stopped immediately. In fact, the term "Fascist" was banned from public media, and would not resurface again officially for the better part of two years.

WWII brought dramatic development in the U.S. governments use of propaganda. The government helped shape films that hollywood produced, instead of forcing them to make their movies. The government allowed hollywood to make their films however they wanted as long as they went along with the war.
