Human Existence?

EXISTENCE VS ESSENCE

They are 2 theories about human existence.

1) Man begins by being nothing. (There is no human essence)
This means that man doesn't have a destiny already written. They build they life day by day. And in any minute everything can change as they make a decission.

2) Man starts as something that is going towards a future. (There is a human essence)
This means that we have to accept that man comes alive with a program already done. Man is what he does, what he proyects with his actions.

I really think that man is born with no program. That man do what they want and when they want to, not because it is a determine plan for us. We are free, we are able to make our own decisions and choose what is best for us.
Human essence is only a general aspect, is like saying that everyone should be born to do a good for everybody else. But it doesn't determine exactly what each of us have to do.

banks and CRISIS!

Banks have a very intelligent way to work.
First they start by getting money from customers, giving them a little percentage to them for having their money in that certain bank. Then, they lend all that money to people with a lot more interests than what they actually lend. This is the way banks win money. And all the money is always circulating.
BUUUT if every person wants to take their money it will be a big problem because the bank doesn't have all the money.
I think that if this problem occurs a big caos can occur in the world.
For example, this year since there was a very bad management of all the money the crisis arived. This already happened years before in the "Great Depression" but USA didn't learn the lesson and they repeated the same mistake. And we still can't get over it completely.
If we continue like this and don't learn from the past 2 mistakes, the next crisis can be much worst.

SILVER

Did you know that between the 5 main producers of silver in the world is Mexico?
Just behind Perú.
- Perú (111,6 millones d’onzas de plata)
- México (96,4 millones d’onzas de plata)
- China (75.4 millones d’onzas de plata)
- Australia (55,6 millones d’onzas de plata)
- Chile (51,5 millones d’onzas de plata)

Mexico, along with Perú... produces 1/3 of the silver in all the world!
Mexico can find new ways of producing more material with all this silver. And then find the way to export it to another countries and gain a lot of money! This can also help us to progress and to stop being a country in development.

OECD and Mexico!!!

The OECD is an organization that cooperate economically and helps develop countries.
The organization is for governments to compare their experiences, look for answers to common problems, identify work to coordinate economic and social policies nationally and internationally.
Which finallity is to:

  • Supporting sustainable economic development
  • Raising employment
  • Raising living standards
  • Maintaining financial stability
  • Support economic development in other countries
  • Contributing to the growth of world trade

This is such an important opportunity for Mexico to develop and to progress the financial crisis. If we start getting well advantage of this opportunity we can inmediately get out of a lot of problems that Mexico had and is still facing through history.

1st president of the EU?

I think that a permanent president for the European Union will be much better than to be changing them. This is because, this way the EU will be more stable with their goals because the president will not be remove from his/her job while they are doing something for Europe.

Tony Blair...

He is a British politician and was the prime minister of the United Kingdom.

By the time when he was in turn as the president of the European Union, he aprove the Euro to be all around Europe, but he didn't introduce it into his own country.

One of his last action was beeing part of the deal in the Lisboan Treaty.

Because of all the things he have done for the EU, in 2008 was mentioned as one of the main possible candidate for the stable presidence of the European Union in 2009.

He will have the support of the United Kingdom, as well as with Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy.

GLOBAL WARMING

watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJAbATJCugs

As we could see in the video, our planet is getting each day worst and worst. We are consuming every natural resource that we can possibly have. And we are also polluting it with other resources that the same human create.
We can contaminate in a lot of ways:
Every time we use our cars we are contributing to air pollution.
Every time we waste water.
Every time we use sprays.
Every time we throw trash in the streets.
Every time we use a lot of electricity.
And many other ways.
We have to start acting NOW! If we don’t do it, it might be too late later. The poles have already started to melt, the heat in the cities is getting even worst, and our ozone layer is having a bigger hole. We have to stop being so selfish thinking only in ourselves and start thinking in your planet, in the place where you live, where your sons and grandsons will live, in the future of YOUR COUNTRY!

swine flu

Here in Sonora, the swine flu is raising a lot. 5 more deaths were added to this disease.
To start with tragic death a kid from Nogales, of 13 years old. Another kid of 15 years old was death in the hospital from Obregon. Another man of 28 years old originated from Puerto Peñasco. Another man of 35 years old was death in Guaymas. A pregnant woman of only 26 years old, moments later of giving birth, died.
We have to be aware of this disease; many people think that this already passed but now is when we have to take even more care of our health. Many schools are closing and if they don’t they taking extreme care of their students.
We have to take preventive cares to stay safe. Wash our hands, cover our mouths when coughing, don’t be close to a person that presents symptoms, take vitamin C, immediately after you present symptoms go to the doctor, etc. Don’t have the mentality that you will never get sick because you can if you don’t take care.
Swine flu is not a game or a simple disease; take it seriously so you can be on time of preventing it.

the T word!

"Libertarian economic theories hold that tariffs are a harmful interference with the individual freedom and the laws of the free market".

Tariffs, in any country, can have possitives and negatives effects. But this depends in the way that you see it.

In my opinion tariffs can have a negative consequence, if we base in that we are spending a lot of money that we can use for many other things.

But a positive consequence is that all this money, can be used by the country to improve some instalations in the cities.

MOST IMPORTANT TARIFF-> TAXES!!!

Taxes are used by the government for many things. Such as: war, the enforcement of law and public order, protection of property, economic infrastructure (roads, etc.), public works, social engineering, the operation of government itself, education systems, health care systems, pensions for the elderly, unemployment benefits, public transportation, etc.

In few words, taxes, in most of the countries (where they use the money correctly) is very efficient because with this money, the government improves all kinds of "disadvantages or mistakes" that a country can front.

say YES to globalisation!!!

INTERCONNECTDNESS:

As we have seen in class, globalisation is the way countries "share" information and technology mainly.
I find very interesting the fact that all about globalisation is with us thanks to the drivers that we have now in days. For example, the main one:
We now can't live without internet, we can have a computer but a computer without internet is not so useful and entretainer as with internet. Thanks to the internet, we can have a lot of more information easier and quickly. Ex: an accident can happen in New York at 10 pm and even 15 minutes later we can already see minimum what was the accident about in the internet.
We can't forget all those websites that come from the internet, as my space, google, facebook, twitter, etc. We communicate in a lot of ways by all of those websites like from pictures, videos, messages, etc. And day by day people are inventing or renewing new websites that we are going to use sooner or later.

Thanks to the internet, we can be informed about what is happening all over the world in an easy way. And it has a lot of possitive consequences as having more intelectual culture, stay day by day in the news, know what is going on in another countries with their government, culture, economy, people, etc. Between other simple things as meeting people of other countries, doing homeworks, looking for pictures for a trip, etc.

This is why I think that GLOBALISATION brings us a lot of more possitive than negative consequences.

CHINA AND INDIA

1) What are the consequences of economic growth?
The economic growth is the economic development of a country that changes the goods and services in this nation. But this economic growth can have positive or negative consequences.
The principal positive consequence can be the technological development and this brings a lot of benefits mainly a better quality of life.
A negative consequence can be the economic recession or economic depression, and this affects the quality of life especially in the environment.
"If the same amount of money doesn't supply enough food for these people, we'll see an increase in the number of people whose needs we cannot meet," said Thirlwell.
2) Do you consider China to be a threat to the rest of the world?
Yes, I think that China can become our leader and it is a threat to the rest of the countries.
I think this because I’ve read plenty of articles about China and what I have already read is that China’s economic growth in the past 30 years has been great, it has grown very fast and now it is the second biggest economy country behind United States. So, I think that if China developed so much in not a lot of time, they can easily become our world leader. China has become a major player in the global economy.
3) What are the potential positive and/or negative impacts on the people of China and India of globalization?
NEGATIVE EFFECTS:
· Developed nations have outsourced manufacturing and white collar jobs. That means less jobs for their people. This has happened because manufacturing work is outsourced to developing nations like China where the cost of manufacturing goods and wages are lower. Programmers, editors, scientists and accountants have lost their jobs due to outsourcing to cheaper locations like India.
· Globalization has led to exploitation of labor. Prisoners and child workers are used to work in inhumane conditions. Safety standards are ignored to produce cheap goods.
· Job insecurity. Earlier people had stable, permanent jobs. Now people live in constant dread of losing their jobs to competition. Increased job competition has led to reduction in wages and consequently lower standards of living.
· Terrorists have access to sophisticated weapons enhancing their ability to inflict damage. Terrorists use the Internet for communicating among themselves.
· Companies have set up industries causing pollution in countries with poor regulation of pollution.
· Fast food chains like McDonalds and KFC are spreading in the developing world. People are consuming more junk food from these joints which has an adverse impact on their health.
· The benefits of globalization is not universal. The rich are getting richer and the poor are becoming poorer.
· Bad apects of foreign cultures are affecting the local cultures through TV and the Internet.
· Enemy nations can spread propaganda through the Internet.
· Deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS are being spread by travellers to the remotest corners of the globe.
· Local industries are being taken over by foreign multinationals.
· The increase in prices has reduced the governments ability to sustain social welfare schemes in developed countries.
· There is increase in human trafficking.
· Multinatonal Companies and corporations which were previously restricted to commercial activities are increasingly influencing political decisions.
POSITIVE EFFECTS
· Considerable reduction in the cost of transportation, especially with the development of containerization with respect to overseas ocean shipments
· Decrease or abolition of control over capital and the capital market
· Formation of free zones for carrying out commercial activities, against payment of little or no tariffs at all
· Decrease, abolition or synchronization of subsidies in domestic trades
· Decrease or abolition of every kind of tariffs However, the concept of free trade emerging from Globalization suffers from limitations as well:
· Restrictions imposed on the supernatural identification of intellectual properties. This means that the patents granted by a particular nation will by recognized in another country.
· Synchronization of intellectual asset laws across most states are subject to additional restrictions.

HOW TO SURVIVE?

We all know that the economic crisis is really affecting us in these days, our country can not progress thanks to this. Many news say that the worst has happened, but I don't think so because I don't see that we are getting any better, our government is not doing anything to make us improve, instead of looking for new ways of employement or work, they just stay waiting to see what the other countries are doing to "do" the same. We should start taking a lot of preventions because I really think that the worst is about to happen.

If you want to get a lot of information of how to "survive" you can read this article that I find very interesting:

It is about Japanese elections I did this news for my video and I find it very interesting!
Talks about how Japan decided to change their government. Because the democratic party has been ruling for many years and they were not progressing so I think that with this new government they can improve a lot and I REALLY THINK that they could become an ever stronger country and have MORE influence in the world.

"the most importat women in the world"

"Forbes Magazine has named her the most powerful woman in the world."

I've already read a lot about this women but, as I could notice, not a lot of people know who she is. She is the prime Minister of Germany, FIRST WOMEN FEDERAL CHANCELLOR, and since Germany is a very strong (even though they are trying to balance occidental and oriental Germany's economy) we can associate her with power. Germany is one of the 7 most important countries in the world.
I really admire her because she ir really helping Germany to improve their economy and to reduce unemployment.

if you are interested in continue reading about her and her life get into this link:

WARS.

We know that wars can be very bad for the countries people, economy, progress, etc. But eventhoug, I really think that wars can be very well justified in many cases, specifically for self deffense.
But I have a very particular and I think very interesting case were I really am against the war.
In the war USA vs Irak:
USA participated in this war trying to defend Kuway because Irak attacked Kuway for political reasons, because they wanted to gain territory, raise their economy, etc. because Kuway has a lot of petroleum. After this war started USA went in "defense" of Kuway for their personal reasons but mainly because Kuway sells USA petroleum. This is what is the official reason.
But after all I have read and seen in the news, I really think that USA attacked because they wanted to reactivate their army industry, because this industry can give a lot of money. And since Bush participated (and gain money) in companies that produced army, it was for his convinience to mantain the war in progress and he didn't care for how much damage he was causing in that country.
In this particular cases I am totally against war for obvious reasons.

GERMANY

This past tuesday we had a very interesting class about coutries and their power. Were we all discuss who we thought were the strongest countries or the followers countries.
I could notice that only my team voted for GERMANY as the country that will dominate the world, and even in my same team I was the only one that believes that. But I stay firm with my answer of Germany dominating the world because, I think that in World War II they had a very good plan of how to get more and more territories. I think that they are very intelligent and organize people and if they want to they can do it again but with the difference that now they have a high cultural level, they have more discipline. The only thing they could have against them is globalization, because a lot of countries keep resentiment for what happend before, but even though, they could overcome that and conquer another important countries, because as I said before, they are very intelligent.
