“CRIT” in Sonora

Maybe this new has nothing to do with class, but it is important to know that a CRIT (Centro de Reabilitacion Infantil Teleton) will be constructed here in Hermosillo at the end of the next year.
It is said that it has never been build a CRIT because the government has refused to donate land to build on. Guillermo Padres announce officially the process to build a CRIT here in Hermosillo. Different from other years, this year just one CRIT will be constructed. The State of Congress approved to support annually with 34.3 millions of pesos this new center. The parties in favor were PAN, PRI, PRD and PVEM.
The last census made in 2000 shows that over 42 thousand people have disabilities in the state of Sonora. This put Sonora in the 15th place nationally in terms of people with disabilities.
The government and Teleton consider of great importance the construction of the new center here in Sonora. A CRIT in Sonora represents hope for children from the northern states of the Republic (Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora), since they occupied a large territory.
Imagine how the state will change. We will grow as a city and as a state. Nowadays, Teleton supports 200 kids form Sonora. This people now can have support closer instead of going to other state of the country.
I now that many of you help each year, but this year we have to help more than the other years because now the money is for our state and even more important for our city.
CRIT:-The center will cost 250 million pesos.-The annual contribution by the government will be 34 million pesos.-Teleton’s goal this year is 442 million pesos.-The campaign will begin on November 9 .

Global Warming

Over time, the climate has always variety and it is a big problem. The problem with the climate change is that in the last years these variations had increase and accelerate brutally, to the point that it is affecting the world life. Looking for the cause of this variation, scientist discovered that was in the relationship of the climate change and raise of the green house gas. This climate change is called global warming. Now days, global warming has convert in one of the biggest problems in the world.

First of all global warming is not only a climate change, it is too the result of the raise of temperature in the world and in the oceans. Green house effect exists to control the temperature of our planet and it can maintain good. The atmosphere is layer that covers the Earth. Its function is to capture some of the sun gases and help them maintain the temperature of the planet to have an average temperature of 15°C. These gases are carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane, nitrogen oxide, ozone, and other gases. This is called the green house effect. If this does not exists the temperature of our planet will fall -18°C. A correct portion of the green house gases help this effect to be correct, but if the gases increase the sun rays are not be able to go out of the earth. Now, thanks to the raise of carbon dioxide (CO2), that is produce especially by fossil fuels and other industrial fuels, the green house effect has been intensified.

If this happens the temperatures will increase. If the temperatures increase many things can happen. One of them is that the poles will melt. This makes the sea lever augmented. If the sea level augmented 6 meters more, places like Miami, Florida, Beijing, Shangai, and other beaches will disappear. More precipitation will be presented because the ocean water will evaporated. With a lot of precipitation the sea lever can raise. Drought is another consequence of this. With not sufficient water humans can be damage.

The green house effect gases are increasing because of many daily actions things. One is the burning of fossil fuels. This is provoked by many fabrics. Imagine all the fabrics that produce these gases every day, in every hour and in the entire world. The logging off the trees is one of the causes of global warming. The trees absorbed carbon dioxide, one of the gases of the green house effect. By absorbing carbon dioxide, it is helping the planet to have less of these gases. With fewer trees this gas will not be able to be absorbed. The population growth is another important cause. With more population, the demand increases, so more resources such as water, food, and natural resources are needed.

Also humans contributed in the causes of the green house effect. Because of their actions global warming is increasing. These actions are like leaving electronic advices on when they are not use, not recycling, not buying biodegradable things and other actions that does not affect our world.

This is a big problem that each day is affecting all humans, by intervening in their living conditions. Also, they are affected in a progressive way, because with the days is becoming worst and it does not have a back turn. Humans are the very responsible of this action and are the most affected.

Humans can help in many ways to stop the green house effect. One important thing is to buy ecologic bulbs. This is because the normal bulbs spend a lot of energy. Energy produce heat and this became part of one of the causes. Turning off electronic devices is a very important action. Most of the time humans like to leave their computers or laptop on. Some other people have the TV always on without watching it. Disconnect all the things you can when you are not using them. Taking a shower with cold and not with hot water is another good action. Sharing the car is a good option. With this people does not produce more gases that can affect the earth. Buying electric cars or Diesel cars will help because these type cars does not produce damage gases. Make sure the wheels of your car are full of air, so they do not make touch with the floor and to stop heat.

Humans can help controlling this green house effect by buying ecologic bulbs, use less the car, turn off the electronic devices, and other actions. This problem is being produce by many bad actions such as population growth, log of trees and burning of fossil fuels. Global warming has become one of the most popular problems in the last few years and humans have to act now.

Iran hiding nuclear plant

Iran fired missiles during a military exercise of the Revolutionary Guards, their military elite, because they want to test these missiles. The USA demanded Iran so they can prove its intentions after knowing the existence of a new underground nuclear plant that was construct secretly. General Hossein Salami, Revolutionary Guard’s boss, affirm that it is the first time that Iran do a missile test. In some TV images, some voices that are saying “Alá Akbar” (that means God is big) can be heard while the missiles are firing. Salami said that this test were with the intentions so the other countries that try to intimidate them, sees that they are prepare. Unites States have its doubts about this. They think that this was not for a good intention. Now the US and other countries question is: If they were hiding a nuclear plant secretly, they are hiding something else? In my opinion, I think that they are hiding many things. But they are just looking for protection. I don’t believe that Iran attack other countries, it is still not a very powerful countries like other.

Merkel wins elections for second time

Last Sunday, September 27, Angela Merkel proclaimed her victory on the parliamentary elections, which is her second term of four years at the head of a new center-right government. Projections showed that Merkel's conservatives are heading with the Free Democrats, with the pro-business tendencies, because they had a good performance according to polls. His rival Frank-Walter Steinmeier, leader of the Social Democrats, admitted that his party suffered an awful defeat.

For me, it is good to know how women can become presidents. I think that here in Mexico it would be difficult for a women to win an election for president. Maybe most of the people, including women, would not trust another women to be a president. People in Germany, demostrate us that women make can make a good role, and evrybody can get to be a president. If people choose it Merkel again, is because she is a good president.

The truth of Kentucky Fried Chicken

KentuckyFried Chicken has changed its name to KFC. Here is why.
Surely you think that KFC chicken is a normal chicken that has gone through a normal cooking process process to reach your mouth. That process is not exactly the process that you've been imagining. When chicks are born, they are locked in a dark room. They stay in that room for a week. These chicks go blind because they were never exposed to light at birth. The eye is a muscle; as the chicks did not use the eye at birth this is lost. This is done with the intention that the chicken did not look when they injecten them hormones. With what purpose they injected them hormones? The purpose is for the chicken to grow larger and can get more quantity. The hormones cause them to become fat and grow a lot. Because of the weight, their legs are broken so they cannot walk.
Now imagine what those poor by chickens have pass through, the chickens have become a ball unable to see or walk. Kentucky Fried Chicken received a demand because what they call fried "chicken", are not exactly chicken, but evolve chicken. That's why it's no longer Kentucky Fried Chicken, but only by their initials KFC. Did you just do this? Would you go to eat KFC?

WHO ARE YOU: ALCOHOLISM OR NATIONALISM?

Good joke, this picture demostrate us that the person that died because of nationalism is proud of himself because he died for his country, while the other is proud too because of dying of alcoholism. In today's world people don't do anything good for their country, they just contaminated and contaminated themselves too. So, if you where one of them, who will you be?

Poverty facts and stats

At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day.
More than 80 percent of the world’s population lives in countries where income differentials are widening.
The poorest 40 percent of the world’s population accounts for 5 percent of global income. The richest 20 percent accounts for three-quarters of world income.
According to UNICEF, 25,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.”
Around 27-28 percent of all children in developing countries are estimated to be underweight or stunted. The two regions that account for the bulk of the deficit are South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
If current trends continue, the Millennium Development Goals target of halving the proportion of underweight children will be missed by 30 million children, largely because of slow progress in Southern Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
Based on enrolment data, about 72 million children of primary school age in the developing world were not in school in 2005; 57 per cent of them were girls. And these are regarded as optimisitic numbers.
Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.
Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen.

I foud this in http://www.globalissues.org/article/26/poverty-facts-and-stats.
It is very impressive how many kids die a day because of poverty. And all the people who live with less than $10 a day. I can't imagine living like that, it must be very difficult.
Another fact is the one that says that a billion people doesn't know how to write their own names, this is unacceptable, how can someone is unable to write their own name?
I think that it is becasue of the government, not because of the poverty, because if a govenment had a good education system this wouldn't be hapening.

If Japan dominates the future...

Japan, a powerful country. Organize country, technologic country, rich country, powerfull country, etc. With this characteristics Japan for sure is consider one of the powerful countries. The U.S. has been at the top for may years and for sure they like this idea. Maybe with this crisis it has gone down, but still is a powerfull country. Sometimes I think that Japan is more powerful than U.S..If Japan rises its economy, technologies, power, etc., it will be a clear difference between Japan and U.S.. The U.S. will want power again. This makes me think that maybe this country want war to win power again. In the otherside, maybe the U.S. will be scare of Japan. If the U.S. wants power, this will be related with realism. They want to go fighting for power and competition. So, what will happen if Japan dominates the future?

Republic vs. Constitutional Monarchy

Today at class, someone asked if what form of government was better, if Republic or Constitutional Monarchy. Obviously both forms have its pros and cons, but how to know which one is better? As we know, republic has a president or government that is elected by democracy. On the other side, monarchy power is absolute. The hereditary of Head of State has the control of the country.
Many people think that Republic is better because of democracy. The citizens have to choose the government they wanted. They think that Monarchy is unfair because always the same family will govern. Also is unfair because in those type of places not evryone can be a "government". It is not dicrimination but something related. Is like saying your family was not rich, you can be a monarch. Other people think that Monarchy is good because with only an absolute power there will not be conflicts between the different parties. Beside living in a monarchy is very expensive, all the money the monarch use it for tourism, royal sites, trade, and so on. People trust in the "monarch family". Maybe people that live in republics think how they can trust the same family for all the years or how a only person can control a whole country. IN my opinion I would not trust our president Felipe Calderon to have all the money in its power. This is because the idea everybody have in their minds: " all the governmetns still". I will like to experiment living in a Monarchy. In my opinion I imagine a country that has many order of everything, since money until streets. I think that it is not a better type of goverment, this is depending on people.
