Hamas and Fatah

As we saw in class Fatah and Hamas, had has problems for a long time, at the beginning they were together as a unique political force, after the Gaza-based party won parliamentary elections in 2006, but after a political standoff between the two factions Hamas fighters forced Abbas loyalists out of the Gaza Strip in 2007.

Abbas responded to the takeover by dismissing the Fatah-Hamas unity government, resulting in two parallel administrations effectively ruling the two territories, while Egypt has attempted to broker reconciliation.

After some years Fatah tried to make a peace pact that Hamas didn’t want to sign, they have a different vision of managing the country and they have stronger taught about how to control the situation, the day was June 28, 2010.
