The G-20

The G-20

A lot of people don’t even have a clue of what the G-20 is. They are a group of 20 finance minister and central bank governors.

The G-20 was created to fight the economic crisis, that it was taking place back in the 1990’s. There were similar groupings to promote dialogue and analysis. Like for example the G-7. The G-22 met at Washington D.C. in April and October 1998. Its aim was to involve non-G-7 countries in the resolution of global aspects of the financial crisis then affecting emerging-market countries.

Who is part of the G-20 nowadays?

• Argentina
• Australia
• Brazil
• Canada
• China
• France
• Germany
• India
• Indonesia
• Italy
• Japan
• Mexico (Yes, we are part)
• Russia
• Saudi Arabia
• South Africa
• South Korea
• Turkey

Thanks to the G-20, financial abuse has been reduce, along with terrorism and corruption. Also, the G-20 has helped non-devolped countries to emerge.
