The Sum of all Fears

Only after I finished my last post was that I remembered the film "The Sum of All Fears", a movie with Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman, that describes an scenario in our times of what would happen if a nuclear attack took place. Was it the Russians? Could this start a war? How would diplomatic deals work?

I leave the trailer here and also the link to IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0164184/
If any of you are interested I have the film!

I have never seen that movie before, so I think it would be a good idea to watch it for it so connected with the themes we are looking at in class.

Many movies have been made in relation to the Great War and World War II, the scenario between the US and the Soviet Union, Berlin during the Cold War, and almost every topic we've seen in class. I'd dare to say it has been because these topics belong to REAL LIFE. They are not just folk or tale stories. Each one of these things happened and the impact that they have had in our contemporary society is nearly immeasurable.
Some other movies that could help us have a closer approach to the topics are:
“Good Bye, Lenin!” and “The Lives of Others” that deal with the fall of the Berlin wall (two of my personal all-time favourites).
“Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” by famous Stanley Kubrick (related to the Cold War).
“La Vita è Bella”, “The Pianist”, "The Great Escape", “Au Revoir, les Enfants”, “Das Boots”, and much more as for the two World Wars.
