Excellent Resource - Hiroshima

-
Dear Students,

It´s been 64 years since the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. This link provides excellent high-quality photographs of the disaster, for you to appreciate just how destructive the bomb was, and why we really do need to think before we use nuclear weapons.

I will say that this website in general is excellent, but do be advised that some of the images are graphic in nature.

Have a good weekend,

The day we had that class, I actually got really interested in the Hiroshima's bomb. I made some research and I found this video in youtube that reenacts the bomb. It looks real and it can give us an idea on how where those moments of frustration. It also includes the testimony of a couple who survived the bomb. I hoe you enjoy it.

Very interesting link. I found a quote that can be related to the use of the atomic bomb, and to virtually every weapon ever invented. I post it here for you to think it over and comment your opinion: do you agree or not? Personally I agree, as it is through experimentation and the discovery and development of new technologies that people creates and finds new ways to kill. Here it is:

"I think that technologies are morally neutral until we apply them. It's only when we use them for good or for evil that they become good or evil" - William Gibson

Esteban explain more about the quote.

I really like that link, but I think that this video has a better image of nuclear bomb. I like this videos because you can see how the bomb works, also it includes some images when they are making the bomb.

This is a clear and impressive example of why we should think twice before dropping a nuclear bomb, seeing all this pictures makes me ask, is this woth it? do people in USA take concience of what they've made or do they celebrate their glory, are the affected people inocent or do they born guilty just by borning in that country. It was a big bomb and so, many people are suffering, even today, the effects of this bomb are seen today among the people and their culture, i think this is not very good, because people may civilize and relationg among countries to, but an event like this is never forgotten, remember US in not going to be the most powerfull cpountry forever!
