Cold War effect on culture

As other people have also talked about the Cold War propaganda. I started to realize how much Cold War had influenced culture. Specially American culture. In my opinion, the United States has a very unique way in conveying history, placing themselves as the good guys. And as most people are more likely to watch a movie than read a book, people believe that.
Because of our age, we have no real experience on the topic, but what we see it in films and tv shows. Movies like the James Bond series, and Mission Impossible are obvious examples, but there are series like The Company and Cold War. Also videogames like KGB, where your character is a Russian spy. And of course, every now and then, we see a chapter of the TV series of the moment make an allusion the Cold War. Examples of this are Episode 11, Season 1 of Lie To Me, Episode 19, Season 3 of Boy Meets World.

It is really interesting to consider how this marketing of Cold War is affecting the perception of American people (And also the people of the world). As you mentioned, people like seeing films, and most films about the Cold War have a very clear bad side (the Russians), while the good side are the Americans.

But I think Cold War wasn't really all that black and white. I think it was more complex than that. It was not good or bad, merely two countries fighting for what they believed was right.
